Óscar Fernández: “The team have always turned up before the difficulties and we’ll do so against UE Olot”

VCF Mestalla head coach, Óscar Fernández assessed Sunday’s meeting away at UE Olot on Matchday 6 of the second phase in Segunda División RFEF at 5 pm kick-off time in pre-match press conference with VCF Media.
"We’ve got to go to Olot looking to take all three points, do things right, but for ourselves. We didn’t read what the game required and we had a poor performance. I’m not talking about a rematch, I’m talking about situations. They’re good opposition, it’s a good test to see how much we’ve improved, and if we can manage to interpret what that they asked of us. Now is a chance for the boys to take a step forward to keep growing up against an opposition that beat us at home so we’re going to try to come away with all three points away at Olot”.
The situation is what it is. The only thing we have to do is to carry on working, helping out the boys and turning up to try to do things well to get that is so hard to come by. It’s a good ground, a good opposition that play and do things really well and we’ve got to keep on giving a good showing to pick up those eagerly-awaited three points to give a much-deserved joy to the dressing room.
This is a young dressing room and they’re learning many things. They’ve come out of their comfort zone and we’ve had nothing but difficulties along the way. The team have always turned up before those difficulties and the team will turn up on Sunday at Olot.
These aren’t excuses, because the result is what it is and we have to assume it and I’m the one responsible for it. Other than that, the boys are competing outside of their comfort zone. They’re competing without getting the result that we want, but they’re going through that learning process, growing and taking big strides this season in situations of crisis and let’s hope that in near future they keep on improving”.
